This summer has been great so far as we move forward with infrastructure and grown relationships in the industry. We have cleared quite a bit of land and a plan for the footprint/layout of the property. It's exciting to move forward. Mickala's pending wedding has been a great motivator and we are excited to move forward on some big projects and improvements for her event that will move our business forward as well. Our business plan has morphed over the last four years but it has been exciting and God driven. Our focus is our family and community. Keep tabs on our Facebook account for images of the structure we are building as well as the land we are clearing for parking as well as a farm outbuilding that will serve many purposes as we prep and plan to be a destination site for brew hobbyists.
Can you even stand it!!!! 35 days until the big event. Excited and nervous all at the same time. So much is being done to prepare and to make this the best event it can be. Your RSVP'S are still needed. You will need to purchase a ticket to be able to come to the event. This will let me know how many to provide and prepare for, so don't forget to RSVP and get your tickets today!!!!
As the event draws closer we have two farm days available if you would like to come on out and give us a hand. First one is this Saturday the 1st of August and the next will be August 23rd. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Lunch will be provided. Also the garden has exploded with fresh veggies. If anyone would like to purchase fresh vegetables from the farm let me know. I have so much coming through. Spinach, lettuce, leaf lettuce, romaine, cantaloupe, green beans, tomatoes of all kinds, snap peas, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash and so much more. Hope to see everyone there this weekend. Lunch is provided!!!!
Ok peeps....This weekend is going to be HOT, HUMID and BEAUTIFUL. While you are all out and about enjoying that sunshine and soaking up the rays just be sure to do the same for me. The to do list is adding up and I have more work then I have body's to do so. Soooo, that being said. I will be on the farm all weekend. Getting things prepared for the event, landscaping, splitting woods, clearing trees, cleaning the barn, painting and building. I'd love to go on but then the anxiety will raise..lol I need to do one thing at a time. If anyone cares to drop on in and see the progress or bring me a diet coke I promise I wont make you work. Getting pumped for this event which in returns refuels my energy to make this turn out the best that it can be.
See ya on the farm!!
OMG!!! I have never wrote my address so many times. I finally finished all the invites today, made a facebook event for all of you that will loose your invite :-) (I call it like i see it). No excuses now, but back to these mailed invites. I bought a customized stamp with our logo on it for stamping envelopes for a return address, after I already wrote on 100 envelopes.... It should be here in time for me to send out all the thank you's.
Feeling accomplished today. Totally getting excited though!!! So much preparation, planning and creating. Building relationships with new people and so much more. I thrive on my laundry list of "to do" items.
Here's to forging on and never backing down on my dreams.
For those of you coming to the event in September. When you purchase your ticket your going to select your ticket and your food choice so we know how much of each food we need to make. Id really not like to live on pork or chicken for weeks. :-)
As the event comes closer there is much to prepare for. I am so excited about this. Everyone is going to have such a lovely time. If you do have any further questions please feel free to contact me. 616-788-3021
Its coming together nicely and I cant wait to see everyone dressed in their best for a night out.
Hey everyone as this is the first blog I am just going to go through where we are at rather then what has been done so far. That can wait for another time. We have Hoppy Trails first event coming up September 12th. I am so nervous and excited all at the same time. I was told recently that now that the farm is functioning produce wise I may focus on vanity and making it look nice. Since then I have purchased many flowers, dirt and wood chips for landscaping and reclaiming some of the over grown lawn. I will be putting in a front patio and cutting down more trees for people to park for the event.
As always there is a ton of wood to chop, grass to cut and dogs to throw sticks too so what ever your flavor we have something for you lol.
I should be posting up some upcoming farm days if anyone would like to lend some strong backs, we can use all the help we can get.
